Myspace AIM tag :-/

I've finally decided to change my Myspace profile form the default, and add a pretty CSS on it... but i ran into a problem when i was trying to include a link to AIM on it.

here's the code that makes a link to AIM:

<li><a href="aim:goim?screenname=Tickle+Me+Wee&message=I seen your myspace">AIM</a></li>

but when i put that in, Myspace changes the link to:

http://profileedit.myspace.com/Modules/ProfileEdit/Pages/..goim?screenname=Tickle+Me+Wee&message=I%20seen%20your%20myspace

Yeah, it added the myspace.com part before the AIM part :-/

does anyone know how to get around this:?

Use TinyURL, otherwise MySpace will parse the AIM link.

DUde..... when i first read that, i jumped 10 feet into the air with joy.... (and i was surprise @ how simple the answer was)

but... after i published my profile, and then told friends to test it out, they said it didn't work

and I myself can't test it cuz im on Linux :-/

That's not surprising, since on your page, you linked it as:

http://...com/lqgzo

It should be:

http://www.tinyurl.com/lqgzo

thats what i first thought too, but,

no, when i put it in, ";http://www.tinyurl.com/lqgzo" it comes out as "..."

because, tom blocked "tinyurl" and replaced it with "..."

you should look for other websites that have the same feature as tinyurl.

OK, i actully go this to work now. TinyURL does allow you to use aim links, but myspace blocks TinyURL. So, here are the steps around that:

1. go to TinyURL and type in "aim:goim?screenname=Tickle+Me+Wee&message=Hey"

2. go to www.url123.com and type in the www.tinyurl.com/asdf link

3. copy and paste the www.url123.com/asdf link to your aim:)

/just for reference sake for the next guy that wanna do this
