Tired of losing items

I am really tired of RK Launcher loosing items after each restart. Sometimes it saves list, sometimes it starts with 3-5 icons. I wonder where does this program brings those icons from. Does it have a static list?. I have given up. I am really annoyed and tired adding items after each restart. I will use an alternative. Thanks developer for his efforts.

Yeah, it sometimes happened wit' me...

I saved the itemlist and the RKLauncher .conf.

It's not really a solution but it works.

In order for the items to be remembered you must close Rk Launcher properly, that is (Right click > exit)

If you have done so, then there is a itemlist in the Rk Launcher folder, add the path of your items there and the desired icon for each one of them

It doesnt matter if close it manually or it is closed by windows. I have already tried manually exiting application several times. Sometimes it keeps but then it loses again. Maybe there is a problem with itemlist saving procedure.

maybe you're using a docklet that doesn't let RKLauncher shut down properly...

is this problem there in the latest nightly too ?

I have had the same problem for ages, but this is what i did.

firstly and most importantly make backups of itemlist.conf and the RKLauncher.conf, then right click on both files and go to properties. From here tick Read Only and press o.k.

I have done this and each time i restart it works fine.

** Just to point out though, if you do go about changing settings/icons on dock you need to unlock the files before changing these settings. Otherwise the files remained unchanged

I have -save settings on change and exit- enabled. After i have added some icons i have opened the itemlist file with notepad but the new icons arent there. I have right clicked and selected exit. Again new icons arent in the itemlist file. Maybe the program should check the file if the settings are saved correctly or not.
