how to get rid of the recycle bin icon

how do you get rid of the recycle bin icon?! its killing me!

download tweakui or use a registery hack. I suggest tweakui

I second that, TweakUI can also get rid of any icons that you can't delete by default (for example the Nokia PC Suite icon)

Note the forum, guys. Can't you just right click it and select "remove docklet?" Or, making sure the dock isn't locked against changes, just grab hold of it and drag it out of the dock area. Or even edit the itemlist.conf file (make sure the actual program is closed).
