SysStats Media Controller is the closest you can get...so far.

I am using WMP and is fine for me. I install once WinAmp and screw up my system.
No thanks i will stick with media player even if you guys dont bother to make any stuff
for that.
Anyway i use it just to listen music. No big deal.
No desklet is made, but one can be very easly made using AveScripter.
Don't expect one soon, I'm overloaded right now, but I'll get to it eventually, I got a few more important things to do, outside of programming.
