zondajag is precisely the type of ignorant person who misses out on the great features of msn plus! on my contact list 
. its not spyware, patchou went to a great deal to print out an appeal to microsoft to get it off their spyware list.
I'm using Live Messenger and so far I'm very impressed. Clean interface and good features.

by old messenger i think you mean windows messenger, which is a seperate program to msn.
this will replace any previous msn messenger you had, eg. 7.5
What's the main differences between this and Msn 7.5(?) Because I read that the skins don't work with it anymore. =[ So if there isn't really much difference i might just keep my msn 7.5 with it's Tiger Skin.

I installed Windows Live Messenger today, now the first thing I do everytime I install Messenger is run A-Patch to get rid of all the ads and stupid crap that make MSN Messenger bad. Now that my WLM is clean, it looks kind of nice (they finally added the ability to rename contacts). Now I don't know if I'm gonna go back to Miranda IM - this version looks nice so far 
@tcm i hope you didn't remove the bottom ad on the contact list, that doubles as a video carousel!
i removed it because the option has been greyed out on my wlm since build 56xx-some random number crap
@Slewed: Maybe.. I don't really know. Maybe I just tell all my friends to use it (WLM) so I can add them on Yahoo!.
I only wish that Miranda was as good as the actual IM programs..

where do you get skins for 7.5 btw, i got my aqua skin from messenger lab but i think that site is gone..
ha you guys are insane...sticking to a version thats being rapidly outdated for the sake of some skins.
you can get all the msn skins you'd want under skins and themes>instant messenging>msn messenger at www.deviantart.com
thats because theres nothing wrong with 7.5 and if i cant find the skin to go with the rest of my desktop then it might be better off not updating
