Itunes 4.1 Skin For Musicmatch

I don't know if I'll get in trouble for starting a new thread, but the old one was. . .old, and too long with a lot stuff to scroll through. So if a moderator wants to, close it please.

Like recently posted before I said I made a lot of changes in my skin for MusicMatch. I'm finally happy with the result. There's not too much more I can do but start "new" themes based off of the elagant program iTunes.

-undertaker. . .no bug man, that's the program.

If you assemble the program like I have it, like iTunes, you won't get that problem. The only way that you'd get that is if you have the playlist under the player. I can't control that. Sorry. Not a bug though. . .that's a programming issue out of my control.

-iceborne. . .heh, all buttons work cept the "browse online" I have NO idea why that doesn't work. If you look in the mm.ini file I have all the cordinates correct, orgins etc. and it still doesn't work. That button is redundant anyway. . .it would only work if you were using the "now playing" info. So I guess all but one does. It's in the bug report.

Yeah, I did that on purpose. Thus, the .jpg.

I wanted to keep that "clean iTunes simplicity" look.

I think that is what makes iTunes (OS X) so appealing. . .simplicity & elagance.

BUT,

You're not the only person to say something (via email, pm) so. . .I'll do something. On the original workings of the skin I had the buttons visible, and I also at the end created "aqua" style buttons. Until I found them distracting and "busy" comparingly to the real iTunes. But ask, you will recieve.

I'll work on that tonight.

I still have the original buttons saved.

I don't want to change the transparency on the "file, view, edit etc." buttons, they're supposed to be like that. I'll give you the cordinates, and the color variables to get it visible and centered. . .but you're gonna lose the "iTunes" logo.

i just downloaded the latest version of musicmatch and i downloaded the itunes 4.1 skin and when i try to use it, it says that the skin was made for an older version of musicmatch and it doesn't let me use it, can someone help me please?

-DayneH88. . .I had the same problem cause I realized I was clicking the wrong file. I know that sounds stupid, but I was going through MM, view, skins, THEN selecting the file "iTunes 4.1 for MM". . .yeah, that was wrong. Double click the .mmz and let it install itself. I am using MM 8.0 and I know it works.

There is no thumbs.db in there this time. . .I learned my lesson

For anybody who's interested in old school, I just finished "iTunes 3.1 for MusicMatch." Here's a Pic:

Your questions. . .That is how MusicMatch works. When the library is directly connected to the Player. . .the buttons ON THE LIBRARY become Disconnected and connected to the Player. I hid the buttons on the Player to keep a clean OS X look. That was a little "wordy" did that make since?

When the Library is Disconnected from the Player, the buttons that are "activated" on the Player become de-activated and are useable ON the Library. Download another skin or switch to another skin and you'll see a better idea of HOW the Program works.

So, they are not "bugs" again, that's the program.

As mentioned in the Credits and Thank You's, the buttons on the Playlist are fluff. I cannot get buttons to work before the margin set. It worked for the Library, but not the Playlist. That's also why the "Add, Shuffle, Repeat, Save" buttons on the bottom are offset to the right a bit. I cannot get buttons to work before the margin set. Originaly the Playlist is supposed to be docked to the Player (on the side), but I don't like that, and it definately ruins the "iTunes" look.

When I updated Chriuso's original mod that this is based off of, I wanted a complete "iTunes" look, not just another skin for MusicMatch. That's why in 4.1 all the edges (minus the main "four") are square so it would be flush with one another. I'm going for Emulation not a skin. If you look at other people's Skins, they all follow the same, typical MM "outline." That is why when Chriuso first made this skin, It was the FIRST to really do something different. I saw it as an opportunity to add some flare to a skin, and make it. . .emulation.

If it wasn't Emulation, we'd all have Macs.

Bugs to people just getting into MusicMatch, but really its the programming. I have no control over this. Please read the .txt files in the zip. Also Please go to musicmatch.com "click the 'Search' button, heh heh" and read about the powerful uses of MusicMatch. You'll see how Functional the "skin" is, and how powerful the program is. Chriuso's original skin (url in txt) is a little more user friendly than mine. But hey, that's why I hate AOL. . .its FUN to play with programs.

To sum up, Everything I did, I did on purpose. I tried to improve on an Emulation with an already tedious program. If you want a "skin" I'll upload 4.0 again, that is a little more "friendly" than 4.1. Hey, I'm here to help this already awesome community. I'm NOT SAYING that this theme is perfect by any means, but I feel I've done as much as I can with this without editing lines of code. I am currently working on a 4.1a theme to go along with MM 8.0's new skinning system of "overlapping tiles."

I like it I only have about 3 things that I feel would make it better.

1. the coverart area should be about 3 times bigger right now it looks a little small.

2. I'd like to see different arrangement of the function buttons (perhaps all in a straight line).

3. the search feild should be completely removed, specially if it doesn't work properly.
