I really like ByteController for iTunes because its free and very minimalistic. Except I can't get it to start with iTunes automatically. I have to manually start bytecontroller each time I start iTunes. I have the option "run only when itunes is running" checked but it doesn't open when iTunes is open. Is this normal?

Control click on bytecontroller in menu bar/ General Tab./Check load at startup
I've done that too. But that only means it starts up when my computer restarts right? Becuase bytecontroller itself isn't starting up with itunes.

im saying that It means it (bytecontroller) will be added to your start up items. Itunes should start up also
No no, I'm not saying to start whenever the system starts up. For example if I shut down iTunes, i want bytecontroller to close. When I run iTunes again, I want bytecontroller to start automatically.
you can write an applescript to start iTunes and ByteController together and one more to close both ))
Or you can start ByteController as login item and check "Show only when iTunes is open" checkbox...
There is no other way )

why do you need it to close when iTunes does? it's not like it is tough on resources.
Yeah, I just found out that mac people don't close their programs! It's a new concept to me: running programs in the background. I'm so used to the windows mentality.

Press-and-hold mouse button on play image in ByteController. In 3-5sec menu will popup. Then go to preferences and check a General tab ) There are only 2 checkboxes and i think you need both to check =)
