[help] problem with miranda smiles

hey,

got a problem with my miranda setup... when i or the other person use smiles, it creates a red X as shown in the below pic. here's some info about my system/miranda, need anything else to help me out, just let me know:

I'm no Miranda expert, but I seem to recall seeing somewhere that ieview and smileyadd don't mix. Maybe I'm wrong, though...:(

afaik, using ieview and simleyadd together should be fine... ieview needs smileyadd since the other day to display smileys.

Random Ideas:

- what smileys are you trying to use? what filetype are they? smileyadd supports .msl .asl .xep

- where are the imagefiles located? have a look into the supported file to check whether it links to the right location

lol. Ieviev is recomended to use with smileyadd now :)

Wookietv you should upgrade you plugins and miranda build. Ieviev is now like 1.0.9.4 smileyadd 0.1.12.7

Now is great plugin for miranda called updater http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?a...iewfile&id=2254

which will update you plugins in fast and easy way :) (miranda build you have to update yourself )

And dont forget to make profile backup

P.S also clist modern is now like 4.2.36 its very stabble, have cleaned and redesigned options, working skin editor

and text effects (like shadows etc)

I would also recommend switching to Scriver over Tabsrmm, it seems to work better for me.

ok, i added in the updater plugin and updated some as mentioned above... umm, now the smile button in the message window is not doing anything, disabled with an update? some of the options are not detailed or documented so i don't know what they're actually doing .

to answer the question, i use a different set for each protocol...

Contact List: OGSmileys.msl

Standard: iChat.msl

AIM Oscar: AIM.asl

MSN: msn.asl

JGmail: gmail.asl

Yahoo: yahoo.asl

i can't help you too much with tabsrmm . Try scriver in place of tabsrmm (ieviev and scriver are written by the same autor btw). Also be sure that you're using unicode plugins (if avaiable) with your (unicode) build of miranda.

If you are getting a red cross that means that the image file that the asl/msl file is pointing to is missing.

Open up the file in notepad and look at where the location of the images is specified. If they are local images then find them and make sure they are in the right directory. I think they can also be http images so maybe the site is no longer active where they come from.
