My Itunes Qcd Skin

I fixed a lot of graphical errors in this skin: pixel adjustment, colors, etc. A made the playlist bigger; now it shows 18 songs at once, shows both the artist and song in the same pane, and yea that's about it.

EDIT: Just for the record, and so i don't get yelled at, I did not create this skin. I simply modified it. I will take it offline until I have Spidercrab's full permission to upload it to the internet. And it is NOT made to replicate the actual iTunes program. Just made it to look better.

EDIT: There's no drop shadow on the QCD window. How much I would love that, it's not gonna happen. QCD doesn't support drop shadows. The drop shadow that is discussed in this topic is about the text. It had a little drop shadow but it doesn't anymore.

Well, if you ask me I think the drop shadow looks cool. But sure, I'll get rid of it. I'm also gonna make a graphite version. Speaking of which, anybody have any screenshots of the graphite theme used on a brushed window??? Thanks... lol

I agree, shadows are cool. But isnt Aquasoft all about achieving maximum OSX mimcry? It would be great if you could maybe make another version without the shadow. Thanks!

Wait a second..

Brian did you do actual shadows around the window of QCD?

if its like what i see in the screenshots in yourwebsite.. than do me a favor and bring it up again - those shadows are a must for itunes.

Brian4ever - Nice skin. However, you appear to have made some oversights,

Oversight No1.

You appear to have erased all information about the origin of "your" skin in the Skinfamily.ini file. In case you don't know, this file holds, amongst other things, the information that is displayed within QCD about a skin, it's origin, it's list of revisions and what has been changed. It is commonly used to hold the information from the creator of the skin.

I can't help noticing that you removed all reference to myself, the list of changes throughout the history of this skin and all reference to GameBoyzGB who originally created this skin. Now GameBoyzGB is a very decent chap and I have the greatest respect for him and his work. So I asked his permission to modify his skin and being such a decent chap he said yes.

To your credit you did embed a notes.txt file (not part of the QCD spec) within the .qsf file that reads "I have to give credit to SpidercrabX and GameboyzGB for this skin. They supplied the basic material". For anyone who chooses to dig into the .qsf file, it is there, loud and clear. I, and I am sure GameBoyzGB, are honoured to consider the many hours that both of us put into this skin to be up to your standards of "basic material".

Oversight No 2.

You appear to have named the skin with exactly the same name as my skin. What are the chances of that happening in a random world? This may get a little confusing for those people expecting to use my skin and they get yours instead. Especially when you have modified the skin to deviate from the real iTunes appearance.

Oversight No 3.

You appear to have named the QCD file with exactly the same name I used! So anyone who downloads "your" skin would overwrite and delete my skin. It is customary to use a name that is not already used so

as to avoid complication, confusion and disappointment.

Hint: Both the names iTunes3 and iTunes3.qsf are already used.

You might like to make amends so as to maintain some degree of credibility. There are too many people out there doing a quick "cut and shunt" on bitmap based skins these days. You wouldn't want to be confused with one of those, would you.

To all others:

QCD does NOT support shadows. There are no shadows available with any skin for QCD. You cannot provide a shadow on the iTunes3 skin.

I agree with SpidercrabX, give credit where credit is due.

People like GameBoyzGB and SpidercrabX worked their arses off to provide that skin for us, instead of changing a couple of things here and there and giving out as your work. You should have notified the author/authors of the changes, I am sure that they would have been thrill and included them on the new release where your name would have been added as a contributor.

is like buying a Ford Mustang, changing the wheels and sell it saying that you made it yourself.

I agree with Spider also.

Doing a mod to someone elses skin and calling it "yours" is not cool.

I realize things run fast and lose on the Net, but there is no excuse for stealing from people one actually associates with.

I for one, will *not* be down loading "your" skin.

I really did think i added all of the information, but I was in a rush and I didn't double check anything. I'm truly sorry. I didn't know your skin was named iTunes 3. I thought yours was iTunes 3.4a. I'll change it to iTunes Modified.

Well...I must say that I agree with Grusic....please give proper credit where it is due by including a readme file alongwith your distribution with credit to the original author...no offence bud....I like your skin but I just feel that credit is due to SpiderCrabX

did you add the shadows by painting over it???

They were talking about the shadows on the text of the iTunes Skin (the Lucida Grande font used in the playlist etc)

There are no shadows used on the playlist text either in iTunes3 or the version here. The real iTunes3 does not have text shadows either.
