change pdf icon

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the file type icon for .pdf files? I can change other icons using "File Types" in folder options, but pdf doesnt work.

I haven't yet found an answer to this problem. I believe Adobe has instituted some sort of check to make sure that all the filetypes are okay. You can't change .PSD icons either.

do i just right click, modify and change the value data to the icon i want? i think i did something like this before to my search button in start menu and it kinda messed up and i couldnt get it back, so im kind of scared

The simplest way to change the adobe pdf icon is to go to the "Installer" folder in C:WINDOWS and find the adobe acrobat folder. Name your icon "PDFFile" and substitute it for the stock icon in that folder. Logoff or restart and the new icon is used. Every acrobat update requires a repeat of these steps. This is the only successful longterm way I've been able to change the pdf icon.

yes , Its possible to chenge the .PSD icons.

Just go to Folther Option > File Types , in Extensions select PSD , click advandce options, and you got it ,,CHANGE THE ICON .

( this works for me, I´m usin PHotoshop CS2)
