adding shadows to older skins

hi~

i wanted to add dropshadows to all my older wb skins, but since i'm totaly new to this i got some problems :P

when using per-pixel skins, the position of the upper and bottom borders are determined by the left and right border lengths. So, in order to make it look good, make sure the distance from the actual titlebar (not the shadow in the titlebar bitmap) to the end of the bitmap is equal to the length of the left/right border. Here's an example :

but somehow i got problems viewing tga-images in photoshop, what should be a shadow is just a black splash..

Yeah I would also like to know why that happens with some images, for instance some BMPs

that have transparency show up as black stuff in photoshop. Does anyone know how to fix this?

in SkinStudio, go to Tools > Editing > Image Editors > check Convert TGA files to PNG before using image editors. Then edit the file by right-clicking the image attribute and select Edit/Edit With. (In other words open the images from skinstudio rather then opening them straight from the skin folder).
