Photoshop tut to extend a picture to make a wall?

I was wondering if you guys have any advice to adding sides to a picture to make a wallpaper. I have a HQ photo (1617x2000) which I want to make into a 1920x1200 wallpaper. Now I can shrink it down to center in the middle of the 1920x1200, but I need to extend the blue sides. I tried with my poor photoshop skills to copy and past the blue but it looked crappy. How does one go about doing something like this? Thanks!

You can select a section on the side, then Transform it (Ctrl+T) and stretch it.
