the guy in the screenshot opened two different channels. You can tell miranda how to group windows into containers, search around in the options, it should read like "Message window" (I'm on a german miranda right now)

Whether or not you have tabs has nothing to do with IRC or AIM or MSN or YIM or any other protocol, it has to do with your messaging plugin. I prefer using Scriver and IEView personally, I've had the best luck (and least memory usage) with those two.

Phew, now I remember how tough Miranda can be. I'm going to spend a little time trying to use the new beta, although the nicknames don't seem to be carrying over. Plenty of tinkering to do!
