All the bookmarks in my bookmarks toolbar have dissappeared though they all appear while managing bookmarks and in the bookmarks sidebar. Also when I try to add new ones there by dragging web pages(like I did earlier), it won't work. Somebody else had reported this but had incurred the wrath of Unbeleiver and had his thread closed. Nightcrawler's reply was to check out flyakite faq if he had recently installed it. That faq has nothing of this sort and its been a while since I installed flyakit(its still installed). This happened to me earlier but I can't remmember what I did back then. It started on my 2nd use of dobee's Foxitiger but its persisted after changing themes. I don't its because of themes. I've uninstallled and installed firefox, no gain. Pls help.
Firefox Bookmarks toolbar problem
Here's the part of the FAQ I was referring to, but it doesn't sound like it refers to you:
Firefox pages keep shaking up and down after installation. This is a bug due to not having any bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar (not the Bookmarks Folder). To fix, either:
1) Disable the Bookmarks toolbar by going to View -> Toolbars -> Bookmarks Toolbar
2) Add a bookmark to the Bookmarks Toolbar
After you've uninstalled Firefox, have you deleted your Profiles folder?
It's located here: %appdata%MozillaFirefox
%appdata% is located C:Documents and Settingsmk_dApplication Data
-NC
Before I try that, I'd like to know whether it will affect my settings and stuff. I mean will I lose my bookmarks, extensions, themes etc?
Ah, yes, silly me--you will lose all that. First you want to back up this folder to a safe place. Bookmarks are easy to restore--there's a Bookmarks.html file in this Profile folder that you can just copy into the new one. It's probably best to reinstall extensions, though you could try simply copying the /extensions folder into the new profile folder.
So yeah, back all this up first please
