gnome is like KDE right? A desktop manager, what are the advantes of them? Which is better to use?
Well, I prefer KDE since I've been using it for so long ,I'hve use gnome although Im not goin to deny it is more eyecandy ,I have enjoy the last bounds and leaps KDE has made and is making , I heard that Gnome has not done anything major to their look or engine . KDE meanwhile is always busy working on the next release .I also like enlightment, but KDE and Gnome r the most Used I think but heres in article about the differnces

I'm a gnome user, at least until enlightment 17 goes live, I can't stand KDE, too.. rigid... I've tried KDE a few times but it is not my bag.
i think i may install gnome2 on mandrake in a bit... i have never tried gnome2 just 1.4.. i hear some good things about it.
I hope there is good support for kde apps too.

Bolero if you have installed both desktop, KDE apps will work in gnome and gnome apps will work in KDE.
