Using The Pc As A Telephone

Hey guys ...

could you use your pc as a telephone ... since you have a mic a speakers

and you could dial with your modem from your pc ?

I used software to make it an answering machine ...

could you give me some info guys ?

yes - but with a dialup modem.

I'm assuming that is what you have.

There is a built-in program that allows you to do that. I've done it plenty of times when I had a dial-up connection. YOu can even use it as an answering machine..

I used the dialer but...

after I dial it asks me to lift the reciever and click talk ...

I don't know why but I also tryed some commecrcial software and it did the same

i think you're supposed to plug a phone into the line-out of your modem, and use that. i could be wrong, though.

First of all, make sure you have a voice modem... otherwise you won't be able to use mic and speakers instead of the receiver.

If you mean contacting from your computer to a regular phone, there is VONAGE (the broadband phone company). Communicating between PCs is easy though, just use an IM client
