icon change problem (mac os x)

I use candybar and pixadex to manage and change my icons. I can change most icons, but some I can't. And some others are reverted back to the previous icon after a while. And other icons only change when I launch the application whose icon I changed. A reboot doesn't solve this.

The most annoying one if the generic folder icon, which I cannot change at all. Quite frustrating when my whole system is themed the same, except the most important of 'em all :P

Any specific solution to this problem? Are there other (beter?) applications to change my icons.

Thanks a lot.

I am currently using candybar and works perfect on my Intel iMac. Check you have the latest version soft... Personnaly I think Candybar is the best value-results app for icon customization in Mac

For generic icon problem, you should contact theiconfactory.

For some reason,my apps don't change in the dock,or after a while it does. This is an approved problem from candybar...But rebooting should fix that !

After changing an icon,go in finder look for the app,and view info. click on icon and press delete,it should work.

Thanks both, I got all my application icons changed.

Though my folder icon, and my home icon still remain unchanged.

My dock already looks sweet.

Take your dock icons out of the dock before changing them.

If you have changed an icon before by going Get Info>Pasting the icon in, it will override Candybar.

Programs with multiple states, like Adium X, will not change. You need to go into package contents, and change them by hand.

I've had this problem as well a couple of times. I just ended up creating aliases and removing the allias badge (arrow). This seems to work for me, you might want to consider it if you can't find another solution.
