I Know What I Want......

can someone help me. I want one of those...things...where you can like have a server on your own computer, but it is not on the internet. I have no idea what it si called, but I know simon has one. I want to get one of these so i can work on my forums while i go on holiday (please hurry as i leave this afternoon). Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance, James

P.S, i would like to know where to download the components also (Y)

You need Apache Server and the mySQL add-on. I think. I can't completly remember because I deleted mine.

I know what you want. You want something like Appserv or FoxServ. I reccomend FoxServ. You can get it at: http://www.foxserv.net/portal_database.php...c65f29b023a99f1. Although, if you want; you can get Appserv here: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/appserv...e_mirror=heanet

Just download them, run the installer, then read all the readme and help files inside

Oh yeah, that's it. When I hopefully have XP I will install it again. How is FoxServ better in you opinion?

Well, I think FoxServ is better as for some reason, I could not get IPB to work on the new version. it worked on the earlier version, but not that one. So i got FoxServ, and it works fine. Tell us all about your site when you get back. Have fun :)
