lol Apple are **** for delivery times, takes ages, guy at the apple store told me that.
he was saying to buy it from a store so you dont have to wait around, thought he was just trying to get commission, but seems he was right, took 2 weeks for my macbook pro to arrive, and the extra ram is still on its way? this is in the uk.
Cant wait for leopard so that i can run Windows Vista on it, BootCamp beta and Parallels suck!

I've now ordered 2gb from another US store, hoping they will deliver to the UK without a problem. Delivery was $50, but it still works out a lot cheaper than RAM over here!
I've had plenty of experience with Apple's shocking delivery times and delays, with iPod's, software and other Mac's so bought this one from a store in Manchester. They had none in stock so I had rung two to get my name on the reserve lists - didn't take long for them to get one in stock, about 48 hours. Plus, I still got my educational discount! Was really impressed.

However i have a suspicion that's for a desktop not a laptop. Could there be a difference in size/the number of pins?
I know you're probably not, but for goodness' sake don't *ever* buy from Novatech. I (and friends) have had nothing but trouble from them.

oh ya... you guys having issues w/ the cd tray? makes crazy noises trying to seat the cd... works fine just sounds violent as sh*t...
the top of it doesnt get hot at all....just the back left side......i wouldnt say unbearably hot, just noticeable.......other than that, the thing is sweet as hell

The higher end MacBook Pros come by default with 1 GB of RAM in one stick, but you have the option to change that to two 512 MB sticks and save $100. Doing so would be the better option since the RAM would be running in dual channel, correct?

Apple uses Samsung RAM. I installed RAM to my PB yesterday, and it had a Samsung stick.
Bought mine from macsales.com (OWC). Great prices, although the delivery was a bit slow (damn USPS; because OWC shipped it the same day.)
For the record, don't buy MacBook RAM from these guys - http://www.memorystore.com/ - it fits but doesn't work at all! Had to ship it all the way back to America

You sure you installed the memory correctly? Only reason I'm saying this, is because I had problems with my ram, but it was cause I didn't push it in all the way, (you must apply alot of force to get it in there).
