SUPERFAST OS switching video

from reading the minuscule description, i guess he's not using bootcamp. or maybe he is, i don't know. but this is what intelmac is all about...

#390660

Yep, this video alone sold me on getting the MacBook

#390661

I don't really understand it all... So, that isn't done by Bootcamp but some thing called Parallels? ..?

#390671

gonna give this a try, seems better than boot camp

just hope it has all the drivers and stuff, dont want my macbook pro burning up

#390680

edit: Timan solved the problem already :)

#390682

^what you on about?

Q: when xp asks you to format the partition, is this okay? it wont format osx will it?

and what option do you choose, NTFS or FAT

#390687

BHX, he was not referring to your post, the post he is referring to was removed.

#390688

okay! so what about the partition, is it okay to format?

EDIT: Okay done it, seems to be installing now, one thing thats crappy about this is that it will be running on Mac OS X, so it will lag abit, and also not be compatible with bootcamp i dont think!

just have to see how this turns out! bloody hell windows takes a long time to install though :P

#390691

why is it legal to install xp on an apple computer yet not the other way around?

PS thats very cool, i want it now! [hopefully it wouldnt melt in my lap if i used it too much]

#390700

That is the question that nobody here will answer.

#390701

because nobody knows or nobody understands?

#390702

Why would you want to run OSX on a PC??? Apple Mac's run it better cause they we're designed for it! Which is why its illegal!

Say BMW invented a fuel for their car, they'd be pissed off at you using it say a merc

but they wouldnt object to you using Shell or someone elses in the BMW!

Thats pretty much how the Apple PC thing works!

------------

So anybody installed XP yet? Its taking ages! Starting to wonder if its crashed?

#390705

^^ Another car analogy .. How original ..

#390707

^some people have attitude problems online!

so like back on topic, i've got XP running, but its dam slow, and its running in a window, its not as native as shown in that vid! anyone know how to flip between the os's

#390719

I don't own a mac . but heres a comment from one of the videos from that place

" With the installation of Virtue Desktop Manager and Parallels Beta5 Fullscreen support, you can now do full-screen switching with amazing transitions between the 2 OS".

#390724

Okay got this running! So i hit Alt+Enter to spin between the OS's but it still bugs me in that when you flick back to OS X, you are still in XP and have to click Ctrl+Alt to return! Not only that the window takes up the whole screen and is a pain.

Anyone know how to be able to just spin between the two and commondere the OS you want to use, without having to see a minimized screen!

lol typical windows is now refusing to boot

think i'll leave this alone, gonna give boot camp a try, see if it;ll work with my copy of windows xp
