Should I Install Panther?

Well the thing is that I got my eMac a few days ago. I am incredibly pleased with Jaguar but I am wondering, someone I know from WWDC has showed me Panther and I am wondering whether I should install it or not.

Its a beta, and you don't want a beta to give you a bad impression of the Mac OS, coz that is what beta OS's do.

Dual boot. That way you can look at the cool new features and still have Jaguar for most of your use.

If it were me I would dual boot it as the second OS. This way you can play with it.

Any idea how to do a dual boot?

should be able to just make a new partition and tell the installer to install on that partition... but iv never done that on a mac so i dunno if im right or not

You're a kid. You cant get into the WWDC.

mihlay:

install it on a seperate partition, and you dual boot by choosing startup disk.

im still running a version of pro tools that only runs on os9, so i have to do that.

there may be some sort of "boot manager" so that you can just choose at startup, but i haven't ever tried it.

i imagine it is much faster, and i would reccomend checking it out. os 10.2 was EXTREAMLY faster than 10.1, and they said speed was going to be one of the biggest improvements with panther.

good luck!!!

thats what goku wanted to do, but he was too lazy.

so goku will have a thorough format on his HD when the real version comes out.

So if im going to have it anyway, why not enjoying panther now :harp:

thats just me.
