can anyone help rid these icons of open apps on taskbar???or have anyway can change them?????

Are those icons in your taskbar?, Object Bar? What? Please be more specific....
If the icons are in your taskbar (the bar with the Windows Start button) they cannot be removed. Use Object Bar in place of your task bar or (really geeky stuff ahead) dump the Explorer.exe shell for a alternate shell like Litestep
If your are using Object Bar and getting the icons, you can either change the bar, or edit the bar to remove the icons.
Give this site a try did not go over all of them but there are tons of reg hacks!
Or you can reshack them and replace them with a transparent icon
