Objectdock 0.95

ObjectDock 0.95 is here!!!

http://www.objectdock.com

This is the news:

-Thanks to Jairo Boudewyn for the great looking ObjectDock icon now in use!

-Context (right click) Menus added, functional for both windows and files.

-Clicking and holding on programs that have running indicators under

them will show a menu of all the windows open for that program.

-"ICL" icon library reading support added

-System icon loading greatly improved, works great with IconPackager now.

-Graphic files dropped onto the dock (bmp, jpg, psd, etc) are now

represented on the dock by the image they contain rather than a generic icon.

-Speed improved, found a couple unneccessary slowdowns and eliminated them.

-autohide bug, would not re-show if window was maximized and on

top/left/right side of the screen

-Various glitches and small issues fixed up.

-Background glitch when dock is semi-transparent, has no taskbar,

and is aligned right/left along the top or bottom.

-Recycle bin should now detect and report activity on recycle bins

on *all* drives, not just the c:\ drive.

WOW!

nice!

Great great update!!

I love graphical files thumbnails while they're in the dock.

Great job Jeff!! (Y)

#36021

Great!!! I've been waiting for it for months!

Finally it's out!

Cool!

#36069

yea its nice, i still feel that the od engine is the smoother of all. BUT yzdock, eventhough is not that smooth, still feels more 'dock'...

dont know if jeff would like to hear some points...i believe hes too busy.

respect.

aniba!

Just to add that 2.70 is out with some bug fixes and some xtras.

#36081

2.70 ?

#36082

add plug-in support to this baby, and goodbye yzdock forever! (or until that's improved, which remains to be seen with the email Mr. Yamaguchi recieved (if thats even real  ))

ive been waiting for right click support on od for the longest, especially on the separator. i must say, the right click support is a bit buggy. when you right click on an icon and move the icon up on the menu, the dock (with autohide enabled) slides down and stops until i select something from the menu, or click somewhere else on the screen to close the menu. once i do close the menu, the dock's background stays there, with no icons, until i mouseover the dock again. here's two pictures to illustrate the bug:

menu error

menu error 2

this isnt that big of a bug, but it is however still a bug, so i felt the need to report it. great update tho. (Y)

Same bug as drastik!

Anyone try closing Outlook 2002 (not Outlook Express) while running the new OD? Did it crash the dock? Just wondering if that bug was fixed or not...won't be able to try it out on my work machine until Monday.

I might have to re-subscribe to Stardock newsgroups...does anyone know if they have an ObjectDock group?

I tried out .95 because of the Yz Dock controversy - just kinda seemes the time to venture out. And I have to say this latest version is great! It takes less resources than previous versions, and is very snappy - not to mention that the animation is beautiful.

I'm a fan again. Now for plug-ins. I miss my weather docklet...

#36780

How is it compared with Yz Dock 0.83?

Yes, they do have an objectdock newsgroup.

Actually adding a docklet compatibility wouldn't be so hard :)

just a couple of dll calls to the docklet :) and some API to rewrite :)

to jef:

if you need some help about implementing this, just ask :)

but I think you are smart enough to do it by yourself :)

#36806

that would be kick ass siwu | (pssst its jeff (2 f's)) ^_^

#36817

This release is the best so far. There's finally right click, and it's very stable and fast. I dropped 100 icons onto the dock and they showed up instantly, and didnt slow the dock down at all. The dock even shrunk to accomodate for the number of icons! :)

If jeff did implement docklets, I would give him my soul.
