a while ago i was getting bsod's which i encountered like every 20 minutes of runtime. i went to my bios and i disabled hyperthreading and now the errors dont happen anymore.
i have a pentium 3.4Ghz HT, im wondering why it happened, and how much power im missing out on if i'm converting large video files for quite a long time...
was it heat related or something else, the error's windows gave were mysterious with BAD_PAGE_FAULT cropping up frequently..
Your best bet IMO would be to contact the manufacturer of the CPU/Motherboard and give them the details. They'll be more than likely able to tell you exactly what is wrong and the steps you need to fix the problem.
That would be the first place I would check at least...this being a desk/mod board and all.

Bluescreens are almost always driver issues. Did you recently upgrade any drivers? Even by windows update? Try a restore previous version if you did so.
well this was an issue that was happening a long time before i posted about it...
it was bluescreening so i reformatted and reinstalled windows [it wasnt the reason for reformatting]
afterwards the issue still persisted but only after i used wu to get sp2...afaik and remember
I've had similar issues with my 3.20e P4 as well... turned out to be an overheating issue.
The stock CPU fan that Intel supplies with the CPU's is grossly underpowered.
It also clogs with dust real fast.
BAD_PAGE_FAULT errors are not driver related... they are memory space read/write errors. Very typical when the CPU gets too hot.
When you disabled HT, all you did was reduced the number of threads the CPU runs at any given time. This caused the CPU to run a bit cooler.
Get a better CPU fan and make sure the case is well ventilated.
i just re-enabled it and it seems to be working just fine.
