Windows slide under taskbar

This software mod's really a work of art - actually made me dig into the mac philosophy. I've had several problems but managed to fix all except one, which is so minor it's really annoying - all program windows when opened for the first time or expanded to fullscreen slide under the taskbar and it's driving me nuts because you have to pinpoit the 2pixel thin window top or lock the taskbar and unlock it again to get them out of there. My taskbar's locked and that's the way i want it to be, I've tried setting it to autohide, sedning it to the back of the screen but that won't do. I'd really love having my taskbar nailed permanently to the top of the screen. Or a free mac.

So emm... is there a way to fix that? I've tried searching but can't really figure out the right expression - i'm not that good at english. Thx for reading.

as far as I know there's no way to 'fix' that. the best I know of is/use is a program to block off that part of the screen. There's a number of app's available for this.

Have you tried ending and then restarting explorer.exe with the Task Manager (Ctrl. + Alt. + Delete)?

I have a similar problem with certain wb5 themes, I have not been able to fix it with Hawkeye shell net, good luck though

A restart does not fix the problem either

Although there is no permanent fix to this I have used the window menu -submenu -adjust window to temp fix and it doesnt always help but it make me feel better I am using WB4 though so i dont know if you are using WB 4 or 5

not a solution to the problem but makes it easier to live with.

To move a window with its title bar out of reach:

1) right click on its entry on the taskbar and select "Move"

2) use the cursor keys to move the window around your desktop.

Do not click anywhere between steps 1) and 2) as this ends the move action!

If you use Stardock Object Dock take a look after "show/hideTaskbar" -Docklett. Since I use this

a positiv bonus-effect is, that the problem with the Taskbar ist fixed IN SHOW-"MODE".

I've had this problem for a very long time and I've just recently come across a workaround, if I can even call it that. Bare with me here, it’s a little hard to explain.

I used to never log off my user account in XP, so I would either Switch Users (Fast User Switch Service active), when my wife wanted to work on her side, or just hit the Standby button when I would leave. The problem always occurred when switching users while the user accounts are logged in (again, fast user switching).

I then started noticing that if I Log Off instead of switch users, the problem seems to have gone away. I tried it hundreds of times and as soon as I switch users between my wife's account and mine, without logging off, the problem is back.

I found a couple of forums that had a topic discussing this, and the bottom line seems to be that it’s a bug in XP unfortunately.

Anyways, I really hope this helps everyone here experiencing this weird problem because I know how frustrated I was trying to find a solution.
