adding a playlist without adding songs

my itunes library disappeared and i had to add all my songs again.

thankfully i backed up my library through winamp, and all my playlists as .m3u

when i import a m3u playlist though, it also adds a 2nd copy of all the songs to the library. now its all good importing a small amount of songs and pressing "show duplicates" then deleting one but i have over 300 songs in this playlist...

how can i add the playlist avoiding a duplicate of each song on it being added to my library... and shouldnt itunes already recognize it has a copy?

This is more of a workaround, but does this work?

ah thanks nc, the problem is itunes has added the same song twice, 1 song isnt redundant...if i go to its info then click next, the path won't change, and "both" songs play fine

if i delete the unrated "new" version, it'll delete from the existing imported playlist...which defeats the point of adding it...

Maybe in a later version I'll include the option to replace the Date Created column with a Date Modified one, but I don't promise anything, I'm quite busy lately.

thanks lh, would also help to add a full path to the file if possible, i need to see which drive my songs are on!
