Checkboxes

Hi,

i'm using the latest iTunes-Windows Version (right now 6.0.4.2) and the great mPlugin (2.3.2).

I've got an iPod 3rd Generation (20 GB).

Can I make iTunes use the song-selection (the Checkbox next to the title) only for the copy-process to the iPod, and not for the normal playing?

My Library is 33 GB, my iPod "only" has 20 GB, so I have to select the songs, but i don't want to miss them while playing music on my PC.

Is that possible?

Try creating a playlist for the songs you want copied to your iPod, then under iTunes options for your iPod, choose to only copy that playlist to your iPod.

Might or might not work, since I don't have enough music to fill my iPod, much less overfill it.

That works. I have 65gigs of music and only a 40gig 4g iPod.

You ccan make a playlist that contains what you want to have in the iPod, and then got to Edit->Preferances->iPod and choose to Automatically update selected playlists only. Then choose the playlist(s) you want and voila! You have only what you want in the iPod, and everything else is safely in your library

It is also possible to use the checkboxes, but I don't know much about it, since I don't use them.

But I like that - espacially for Artists with many albums - iPod sorts by Album -- I create a playlist with all songs by this artist and sort it in iTunes.
