ok, so i think im almost there with the MAC emulation, however few rather large things remain.
im using yahoo widget engine tried AveDesk but couldnt find the needed widgets anywhere.
the only thing left now really is to hide all those silly desktop icons.
but if anyone has any further suggestions please feel free to post

First, you could find all widgets for Avedesk here with search 
For the icons, uncheck ''Show icons'' with right click on your desk ''Manage icons by.. ''
And finally, if you want a desk like many other here (Mac look) Use Avedesk
And add a dock too, like RkLauncher.
lol, i have RK launcher(shown in pic) ah, ive gone back to Ave Desk. the disable icons option screws up my wallpaper, i heard you can do it itn AveDesk??

ok i bet you guys are bored of hearing this, but i badly need the Hard drive monitor desklet for AveDesk, since ver 1.3 does not come with one
Just one thing - it's Mac not MAC
Sugz, you'll be wanting PidlShortcut for AveDesk to show the Hard Drive, which comes packaged with v1.3.

hm you can remove them by just rightclicking the desktop>sort symbols by(?)>uncheck "show desktop icons"(?). I dunno whether the menu entries are called like that so here's a little screenie.
