Photoshop CS or CS 2 ?

Hi people,

I need advices, should I install CS 2 on my computer (P4 2.66GHz, 512 DDR... Sys. optimized...) ?

I'm actually using CS 1 and my father bought CS 2, but I'm afraid that CS 2 make my computer and works (on Photoshop) go slower...

So which one is faster ? CS 1 or CS 2 ? Does CS 2 is much-much better than the previous version ?

Thanks (and sorry for my bad english xD) :)

i'm sorry...are you asking us if you should install illegal software on your computer? unless your dad bought 2 licenses, that is what you will be doing.

Get CS2 i run p4 2.0ghz 768 and it runs great

definately CS2. i haven't noticed any real difference in performance at all, and CS2 has a hoard of new features. but yeah, once again, that is illegal.

The speed's practically the same.

To: shmengie

I'm not using some illegal programs, my father is a professionnal photographer (advertising -France) and he's actually using CS 2 on a greatter PC (better CPU and more ram) than mine that's why I just want to know if it necessary for me to use CS 2 on my computer with my config...

Thanks to other replies...

its still illegal because your father bought a single license to use photoshop on one computer,

too install it legally on two computers you need two licenses or a corporate/family license

that was it shmengie is talking about

Why should it be illegal ? In france you've the right to share movies or music in the family why not software ? (private copy)... And seriously photoshop is a very good software but also a very expensive software, I don't know many private individuals that buy photoshop ...

So let us return on the subject, Chazoul was only asking the question if with his PC Photoshop CS2 will work fine...

Personaly I use Photoshop CS2 with a P4 Northwood (the first generation of P4) 2.4 Ghz and 1 GB of Ram and it works pretty fine. Naturally I think there are improvements but I don't know which because I'm not a photoshop expert user...

1. Legal stuff: just read the license that comes with the app, it should tell you everything.

2. Improvements over CS: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/newfeatures.html

I didn't notice any significant differences in speed. CS2 does have some nice new features however for some reason I lost the ability to control click on a New Adjustment Layer. I retouch jewelry for a living and this is an essential shortcut for me decreasing production time other wise I have to continually Save a Selection then load it over and over again. So I went back to CS.

Okay guys, thanks to all :)

I understand that's it could be illegal, but don't worry, I finally transfer the activation of CS 2 on my computer and the other activation of CS on the computer of my father.

I'll edit this post later, I must go to school...

Bye :D

I was about to say to you guys screaming illegal, how do you know he didn't mean his father bought the app for him?

But alas, BS like making people pay 200 bucks to use an app on ONE computer is exactly why some do go illegal.
