Hi, I just found a really fantastic deal on a 2.3 ghz dual core G5
but the guy who is selling it says the power supply is fried. I googled
it and found out that this is a common problem for that model, but
what Im worrying about is whether it could be something other then
just the psu? Is it worth buying it? (the current bid is about 600$ and
there are 8h left).

As far as us being able to determine your purchasing habits, thats something we cant do.

the guy would have to be willing to give me a full refund including shipping if it turned out that there were other problems, ya know? let's say you buy it, replace the psu and it still doesn't work. then what?

i don't think it's worth it. it's gonna be at least $600=shipping, right? maybe you could get $50 for used ram, $100 for used hd, $125 for the video card, $50-75 for the burner, maybe $150 for the case. plus, your time and effort.
look, if you want it, go for it. i know what it's like when you want something and someone else is doing nothing but pointing out the negatives. i mean, a g5 dual proc for $600 sounds great. mebbe it is. it just sounds like trouble to me...
