I'll give you a little example. I have FF open on one monitor, PS on another and my png's folder open on the third. I can drag an image from FF to photoshop do whatever I want to it (clean it up, remove background, whatever), save it to png's. folder and view the finished product withput closeing anything or resizing minimizing, ANYTHING.

I can read this post on one monitor, play a movie, on another and still have access to every file on my system without pausing the movie or minimizing or have a word document or tutorial open on another.

Just a couple senarios. But besides looking cool as hell. It's a time-saver and nice if you don't use the keyboard much.
