iTalk... a mere concept or reality?

Well... so far it's still a concept (and not even confirmed by Apple) but I would kill, rob, shoot and just go beyond limits to get it if it turns into reality !!!

Award-winning filmmaker Christopher DeSantis and designer Gregory DeSantis have created an impressive video/commercial for a prototype Apple mobile phone called the “iTalk.”

What you guys say?

Very very cool. I see the full screen video concept is still in. And I know it has iTunes in it. :D I smell big bucks...

#385186

Gee... looks sexy enough... but... how does one use the clickwheel? Looks like it's behind the screen when the gadget is open

#385192

Yeh... I was also thinking the same thing..... maybe you use as attached pad. I mean flip that pad so that it comes directly under the vertical display maybe.

#385195

That looks sexy!...but the price wont be. :(

#385198

This won't be just another phone... If this little wonder comes true it's gonna be every mac-fan's dream... My legs are still shaking after watching this awesome work.

Even if it doesn't sound good, who cares about money with such a piece of art... And it's an Apple product!!!

Please Steve do make it asap!!!

#385204

its going to sync with safari, ical, address book, and the likes.

i dont know that for a fact, but i mean come on, think logically; its apple.

#385238

very artsy. and exactly how are you supposed to talk on that? do you have to flip both sides open? while you're driving? and remember in the 90's when kids were getting murdered for their nikes? that'll be small potatoes next to this.

but, yeah, very artsy.

oh, who am i kidding? of course i want one!

#385248

yeh.. Shemngie.... I know you want one.. :D

It does raises few doubts how things would function exactly... but then, it's just a concept video. If it gets real, offcourse few things would change from what we see... or the final thing could be entirely something different. But yeh... as always with Apple it would be somethings to drool on.. :)

#385447

wow that looks amazing

#385714

It's almost obvious that it's a fake, although it's high quality work.

Apple always produces simple things, even cutting down features in favor of simplicity.

This "iTalk" consists of 3 parts, driving you crazy whenever it rings and you have to decide which part you have to flip in which direction.

It's got a camera and a quite large touchscreen. How much would something like that cost, from Apple? As much as an iMac?

#386218

I think calling it bluntly a "Fake" is bit rude.. ain't it Ken?.... I know it's not real, but like I said... it's not confirmed by Apple and it's clearly stated that it's Concept Art. So I guess, it's pretty much valid cause every product like this goes to Concept phase.. then turned into reality. Offcourse Concept and Final product always differ, since many features in concept get's chopped while keeping ptracticality and production cost in mind.

its nice looking, the fold out idea is awesome... but seriously i cant see apple putting a full version of itunes into a phone... its more likely to be like an ipod interface...

and im not sure about the whole touch screen thing either, you'd get thumb prints everywhere or an annoying little pen... but it was a cool idea having the numbers on the screen to save space... i cant see apple using multiple screens though.

One thing i believe the iphone/italk will have is broadband wireless connection capabilities- because on the apple website it says that the macbook has been enabled so that future mobile broadband phones will give the laptop wireless internet access.

I would also like to see a small flash disk in it that can be pulled out and interchanged (for larger/smaller ones and allow USB connectivity for photos, music, videos, printing) and could potentially be a replacement of the sim card. With 'top ups' able to be bought from itunes.

you know me, im a dreamer, but its a cool idea and a cool concept video.

I think ken meant to answer the thread's title, it is a mere concept...i'd have to agree with him, this seems a bit like the ipod a/v thing we saw earlier, although i'd love to have one, just like i'd love a fully working UFO like from independence day.

#386299

Actually, I meant that this video does not come from Apple at all.

An Apple mobile would probably look more like an iPod, using the clickwheel to answer/reject calls, find contacts & make calls, browse notes, messages, photos, etc.

It would have a slide-out or anything keypad for the occasional need to write text or store a new contact, and a camera connector instead of a camera.

I can't say anything more. I'll contact Apple for more details :)

That's really nice, I hope Apple actually releases this!

#390365

somehow this looks too futuristic to be real o_o"

but if its real this will be my next handy, definitely

#390369

See what his Steveness says about iTalk/iPhone on CNBC :

#390377

lol we shouldn't be talking about iTalk on Aqua-Soft... Sorry...

but I think that video is REALLY COOL! i wish I had one...

#390555

I'm not sure... but it could be just me, but I think Steve's statement does pass a hint that there is a Apple Phone/PDA is in the line !!!
