Setting arguments should work - I tried it with setting the filepath to irfanview (C:...iview.exe) and the arguments to an image file (C:...14.png) - the file was opened with irfan on click then... Just in case (as you mentioned the arguments weren't saved either, which should work): Did you press "Enter" after changing the text field? And: Does it work with different arguments?

Regarding the saving: I think I can figure out how to save the config (all parameters) - I just haven't got a clue, how to load them again... But I'll look into it!

@garcia: I'm working on this desklet showing up on pressing a hotkey - just experiencing problems at the moment with BringToFront() and SendToBack() - the commands for switching between desktop level and top of all windows (??!)... But we'll see...

Hello everybody!

I just got enough of OD and found out that everything i wanted and more can be done in AveDesk(using v 14). However as i am using Vista Ultimate and I can't drag any icons/exe/anything else to AveDock.

Well i just wanted to get confirmation that AveDock ist mean't to work on Vista.. or am i just stupid..

Then, I already did a new version of AveDock/TabbedDock called MorphDock (as it's totally free-form) and you can get it here:

I admit that I don't know, if it works on Vista, as I'm still using XP myself,

nevertheless, make sure, that you got the latest AveScripter version:

1.0.7.5, you can get it here:

http://avedesk.org/desklets/engines/

Then, as the Dock is done in VBScript, it won't recognize, if you drag'n drop a shortcut from the Start menu onto it - try your programs folder instead.

Last but not least, I experienced some problems on some PCs when trying to save a link directly -

that's why there's a "switch" in the MorphDock options (just rightclick an icon), called exe/lnk (see screenshot: http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs17/i/2007/156...r4webdesign.jpg).

So, if you drag something on the options window and nothing happens, just press the switch and it should work...

I tried MorphDock before but I didn't try to drag to the options menu...

One question: Should i be able to drag directly to the dock...

Dragging to options pane works when the swich is on ink.

Ok i have attached image. Are the icons i have dragged to the options pane supposed to not resize automatically?

Also the desklet area is vertically limited in Vista so the hanging dock(with the fishman) shows only 2 first icons. (the AveDock shows correctly) (Maybe Vista doesn't let to change the area of the Desklet after it has been created once....)

As a side note: wouldn't it be good so that as default it uses the .exe icon.

Hi again -

These images look very strange indeed! I haven't experienced this bug so far and I'm not sure it's Vista-related (You're the first one reporting this problem).

It looks like MorphDock is having problems with reading the skin information (Regarding "change the area of the Desklet after it has been created once") - but this should work, if you installed the latest AveScripter (1.0.7.5).

What you could try is saving the theme with the MorphDock you like and then restart AveDesk. Or maybe try duplicating the Dock after you changed its look.

Regarding the other questions: Dragging directly to the dock should work, too.

Via AveScripter it's not possible however to use the icon of the .exe as default - but it doesn't make much sense anyway, as the standard icons normally come in small resolutions only and look crap if used in a dock...
