quick question, I am a loyal FF user, but I came accross another one of theose emails from MS: so here is the question, should I make the cross over to a beta IE ans kick the tires, or should i just delete the download?
I dont want to intall it becasue of untold fieaskos, but for those that have made the install, what are your thoughts?

me has tried it and it sucked 
just like any other MS's release lol so i would suggest you stay loyal to FF 
I've heard that ie7 has a lot of security issues, but try it and see it for yourself, the fact that you install ie7 doesn't mean that u have to uninstall firefox, so if u don't like just switch to ff again
I find that the "preview all tabs" feature is absolutely outstanding. that alone has me considering switching over to it. the only reason I don't is because of opera's fantastic mouse gestures. i say give it a spin, and find out for yourself-- you can always uninstall it. I did.
I think it is a horrendous pile of crap... worse than ie6 due to really bad ui choices/bloat.
I haven't rolled back to ie6 though b/c I just never need ie anymore.

I think trying is not bad at all, is the only way to be sure it's crap. But I wouldn't install it

But seriously it screwed up one of my Miranda Ieview themes and i just reverted back. So even if you do try it you can always switch back later.
I wonder if styler will skin it...I'll probably stick to ie6...I only use it to check my bulk mail inbox on bt anyways.
Why would you switch to IE if you're using Firefox?
Well, before i rteformatted my computer and it was genuine, i hade IE&. And it is completely different fro, the crappy IE6. It's security issues were fixed, and the gui you get used too. It's basicly an Opera with microsofts name on it, but it still has bulk on it's interface with some FF features too, i think microsoft did good on it.
used it, hated it.

Firefox has a choice of extensions that let you preview open tabs as in ie7 (foxpose is the one i use). You can also have mouse gesture as in opera with an extension (mouse gestures or all in one gestures). GET FIREFOX!

believe me, I tried. to me, FF just has nothing on opera. well, it's close but I have to find and install all those extensions, all those jar files to juggle and massage into place... I tried FF's mouse gestures be they just weren't as well implemented as opera's-- Op. also has better mouse button shortcuts (e.g., middle click link to open in new window, fwd is hold left button the click right, back in browser is hold right button and click left... so easy!). so the fact that Op. has this BUILT IN and renders pages "faster" (opera just feels higher quality, faster, better production- less "open source feel"). maybe FF has all these features, but at this point, I guess I'm willing to take the lazy approach....
however, some pages don't render properly in opera, and many skins are available for it also, there is no adblock, but I'm used ignoring ads. ok, enough from this opera fanboy 
instead of just claming "IE BLOWS"-- would people care to share some reasons why? I thought M$ did at least "ok" by this effort-- BIG WARNING (which I forgot to mention, but brought up earlier), IE 7 WILL MESS UP YOUR IEVIEW IN MIRANDA. ok. sunb1rd out.

I remember the days of Netscape 4.0 Vs. IE 4.0 and I was a die hard NS Fan, then I tried IE, & was impressed, never went back....& NS just did not seem win me back after the 4.5 days....

I've been running IE7 next to FF on my PC and FF and Safari on my Mac.
Of all of them, Safari is the worst for rendering pages properly.
IE 7 still has some issues with CSS2 sites, although I'm glad PNGs are now rendered natively.
FF is still my main browser, however I'm growing attached to IE7.
Take the UI out of the picture and it acts pretty much like FF in general functionality.
I'm sure more add-ons and such will be available in the future, but that remains to be seen.
As for security, IE7 is by far more secure than IE6 ever will be. IFrame vulnerabilities are history and the anti-phishing feature is nice, but still needs some work.
To say IE7 blows is childish. For those who makes statements like that, you obviously haven't used it.
You played with it. Yes, out of the box install is a bit weird, but you can configure all the menus and tweak the layout. Go into the advanced options and mess with the settings.
You'll be surprised at how configurable it really is.
Am I ready to preach the gospel that is IE7... no. But to outright call it junk is mere (insert browser name here) fanboy commentary.
I'll still use FF as my main browser for now, and if you are not comfortable with using beta software, hold off on loading IE7.
But if you want to give it a real tryout, go for it. But really go through it. Check out ALL th features.

i tried out opera and ie7 and i still use ff, but this is only as a matter of convenience because of the adblock extension and a few others.
ie7 loads up a lot faster then ff and is actually faster then my firefox in general loading of pages. opera is even better but i dont use it simply because it doesnt like middleclick too much and adblocking isnt too good atm.
to compare firefox with ie7 and say ie7 sucks is bad, but i'll agree if you are a heavy user of opera.
i have to say that i'm disappointed in rj and slewed for not jumping on the ms-bashing bandwagon. don't you guys know that if you hate ms, people will think you're cool?
ditto...ff is my main browser, but ie7 BETA seems stable so far and i can see the potential when there's a collection of addins that are as plentiful and USEFUL as the existing extensions for ff.
I'm a dedicated FF user... Last month I just tried BETA 2 Pre to test few web design stuff I'm doing, it worked fine with me...
I hate all the $xyzfolder$ named crap folders WindowsUpdate creates in my %windir% ... and I delete everything... most of times all updates on my machine work fine, so I don't find any reason to keep those Update Backup folders created by WindowsUpdate... So, I also deleted %windir%$IEUnistall$ folder so now I'm having IE7 BETA 2 Pre and Uninstall option from AppWiz.CPL (Add/Remove) is obviously gone... and now the real BETA 2 is out I'm not able to upgrade it... It says IE7 already installed, but there's no way I can upgrade/unistall it... wtf...
I scanned my RegEdit.exe deeply... couldn't found a fix to this..........
In short: All MS is crap... damn... still more than 2 months me to get a Mac...

@Shekhar... While I agree that Windows update leaves a lot of stuff behind, you really shouldn't delete those temp dirs until you are sure you don't need them.
I did the same thing and it took a small act of god to get the latest Beta 2 installed on my PC.
In a nutshell, you need to re-install IE6 and then manualy remove all the IE7 dlls.
There's nothing in the registry to remove. The IE7 uinstaller actualy looks for the dll's and reads their version. The cool part is, it only looks for two or three of them. Extract the install source and Just look in the update.ini file for the filenames.
i stopped using ie7 for a long time, when i reopened it i realised how much adware had managed to infiltrate my system through other means, since it wasnt compatible with firefox, i didnt see any of it, i opened ie7 and it all just jumped out..lol
maybe the fact that firefox doesnt show adware is a bad thing, since you have no early warning? (i know i should have scanned my system but the bloody program uses my hd waay too much while im on)
plus @ shmengie, i hate ms in other ways, i seem to like this new ie7, although why m$ is deviating away from the classic menu in ALL of its programs is beyond me...
