iBook G4?

Hi, I'm a student and desperatly want to get an Apple laptop. My favorite has always been the iBook, and I wanted to know if they're a good deal. I'm spoiled by 1280 x 1024 screen res, so the 1024 x 768 is somewhat dis-appealing, But I think I can live with that. I don't mind the 40GB harddisk, as most of my music and things will be stored on my PC harddrive, or I will buy an external hard drive so that mmy music and photos cn be interchangable.

So, after you've heard all that, would it be a good idea to buy an iBook at $999? Wait until they drop? Or just buy a MacBook Pro or Powerbook?

P.S. - Price affects 98.998567321014% of my decision . . .

wait, a price drop is certain once the macbook (intel ibook) comes out there is no point getting one now, but if i was you i would get a macbook (intel ibook)

But, I'm probly going to do the monthly lease thing, but I don't want to pay for something I know is going to get better and better. The reason I want an iBook is because it's small and slightly outdated, and I wont feel bad when they release the Intel ibooks.

And $2,800 is WAY more than $999, $1,800 to be excat. If I'm going to go for something pricey-er, I'm going for a Powerbook.

Also, forgot to mention what I would be doing on it. If I'm using my laptop, I'll most likely either be on the internet, or showing something to someone. Things such as Photoshop will still be done on my PC.
