I was without internet from early September 2005 until this February.

I would do what had to be done by using the PCs at my university's computer lab. Pains me to remember it...

My PC was working all that time though, so it wan't that big a deal. and living in the digital black-hole of the western world (namely Greece) made it even easier

I don't have Net at home for almost month now... not because it's not there, because I'm on Mac at home and my ISP's authentication program does only win32 (friggin Pain in the A**).

Anyway, not that it had made much difference as I had thought earlier.... now when I come home.. I grab a bottle of beer, watch DVD on my iBook or write something in pages or if not that spend time plucking chords on my guitar.

At this point as a matter of fact, sometimes I'm glad to be without net cause I can avoid working at home and at nights and live a normal life... :D

a month without porn??? NEVAH!!!!

In the long, long ago, they have video tapes and magazines for pr0n. Granted they cost money, but at least you have them. In fact, I heard a rumor that they started to put it on DVD. Though, I haven't seen them with my own eyes.

of course all my porn is backed up. didn't mean to worry anyone!!

fill up a USB key with portable software (firefox, miranda and that kind of stuff) and be ready to beg for bandwidth in libraries, university etc :)

I guess the internet is your World, cause I thought this was a suicide note or somethin' :slant:

#383214

it's hard to function nowadays without access to all the information the internet can provide. as for the entertainment, you can find that somewhere else.

#383221

I beg to differ but access to information is always there, Internet just brings it to you easier ways and mostly free (expect the internet charges :))..... God save the libraries !!!

But over the years I've realized that's it's not something you can't live without unless you decide to totally depend on it. There are e-Books and AudioBooks but I still find reading normal paper books much comfortable and enjoyable... and that's just one thing.

I know people who can't live without TVs..... I don't have TV in my house for last three years, I find it goes almost same for everything. I believe it's all about how much you wanna depend your life on certain things.

Like I said earlier, I do lot of other things when I'm not on internet.... having said that I would dare say that I, in fact do more things and more creative things when I'm not on internet. ;)

To most of you: :P

Aqua-Soft aims for a PG-13 rating - please help us keep it that way.

In other words, keep the discussion, even humorous, of teh p0rn to a minimum please, okay?

And yeah, might want to pick a better title next time deathmedic--I too had a fleeting fear this was a suicide note.

igo, I completely agree. I often find myself working better and more productively without access to internet. On the other hand, it still seems weird, you know?

I guess I would have to acknowledge that I have a family and actually spend time with them as they slowly drive me insane. (cuckoo, cuckoo) :D

#383346

I thought I heard something about "sunshine" the other day on the news.... anybody know what that is? :) lmao

In all seriousness, I'm used to having a bare minimum - case in point, I don't have television at home, as I would rather do something active than watch mindless programming that TV seems to be turning into these days. I'm a huge bookworm, so reading would likely fill the gap. But it would suck, my fingers would be twitching and convulsing... although as a positive, I could probably go back to that "how fast can you type your alphabet" thread and get a better score. :)
