It could be a CSS property, shadow, only white.
Exactly how do I do this to change it for the bookmarks toolbar and on each tab?

EDIT: nevermind.. I don't think will work for anything dynamic...
I have tried every line I can think of to make the bookmark text display a shadow and nothing seems to work, and yet I've seen it all over the place so someone must know. I just can't understand what's going wrong, unless the shots around use some sort of custom font with a white shadow already applied. That's too tough for me though. I hope someone who knows can at least point us in the right direction.

I think it needs to be its own font. A font that already has a Shadow like this built in.
The font for this job (default) would be LucidaMacBold. Somebody needs to add a shadowish attribute.
That would be so cool in explorer as well
I also looking for this solution, but none seem able to implement them in xp. The only skinner who able to implement shadowed text is Aronnax (the maker of Firefox grapple skin OS-X). It has something to do with XUL shadowing or something. I have no idea with coding, here's address of his web and his beautiful skin:

white text with black text overtop and slightly offset?
used to do this all the time graphically. And I know you can do it with css positioning too...
