Change iCons?

hello there

im just wondering how do i change icons? such as folders, drives, thumbnail folders stc because ive just recently installed Flyakite and i dont like the blue icons since i want more of a metalic look.

search the forums ,theres alots stickies in the customizing windows forum but you can use iconpackager or reshack the icons you want to change

CandyBar (also consider Pixadex from the same site to organize and store your icons)

ThemePark (saves icons as a gui kit for Shape Shifter, so you would need that too)

Both of these cost $$$

I personally use ThemePark, but I am considering purchasing Pixadex and CandyBar too because ThemePark requires some knowledge of making the icons certain sizes and such and takes some time. CandyBar is probably your best bet. I'm just starting out myself with this whole GUI customizations thing though too so hopefully you get some better advice from more experienced people!

Look at deviantart.com or the Icon Releases subforum here (under Customizing Windows) to find icons. If they're in PNG format, you'll need to convert them to .ico using AveDesk and the IconDrop desklet (use the search here to find out more about them).

Then you can use IconPhile or IconTweak to find out more about those. We just had a thread about good icon-changing programs (it was closed and it had links to others)--search for it.
