Displaying avatars in Miranda
I believe you need the "loadavatars" plugin, and then right click on the contact (on your buddy list) and then go to contact picture..
okay, where can i download this plugin? mirandas site dosnt work.

okay cool, i dont want avatars to be displayed on my clist, but rather my ieview theme.
EDIT okay i went to this site http://mirandaim.pbwiki.com/LoadAvatars and it said that clist_modern currently cannot load avatars.

ShadyApple: it isn't so much clist_modern that can't load avatars as it is the AIM protocol. That is one of the things in the works for it (as well as file transfer). YIM, MSN, and some of the Jabber protocols will allow you to load the users avatar, just not AIM.
sorry about that nc, will do next time. ppoppe ive heard about this new protocol, its oscar right? i checked it out and there still working on displaying avatars and buddy icons but sending and recieving files is already done.
yeah, bits and pieces of AimOscar work for some builds and then not for others (I stay pretty much on the bleeding edge of development, I'm always trying alpha builds). I never know if file transfer works or not 'cause my firewall blocks all those anyway...

I use smileyadd and scriver (as a replacement for tabsrmm) and they work fine. And AIMOscar is out now, it's included in the latest download of Miranda.

i cant use scriver non-unicode with this plugin? i already added this plugin, how do i activate it or where do i add smilies.
you can use regular scriver or the unicode, doesn't matter. If you added this plugin, just make sure it is checked in your plugin list, so that Miranda will use it to manage your chat windows. Then go to options -> customize -> smileys to add them.
i added the plugin in the right place but it wont show up on my plugin list. do you have to have a certain version of clist modern for this to work? mines is clist modern version 0.3.2.17
clist modern has absolutely nothing to do with smileyadd or scriver showing up in the list. Do you have the most recent build of Miranda?

I have been having this problem since the dark ages, people have helped but the damn SmylieAdd doesn't want to show my smilies, neither in ASL format or MSL format 
if it doesn't show in your list of plugins, I have no suggestion.
I have no problem whatsoever using scriver and smileyadd together, sorry but I can't really help more than that. I'd suggest reading through the threads on the Miranda forum for more help.
i just dont understand how it can work for some but not for others. i pretty much did everything right.
I would try starting over with another installation. Install Miranda to a different folder (like c:program filesmiranda2) and just add those two plugins. See what happens then....
hmm wouldnt hurt to try, i better save all my plugins then but i doubt anything will happen. ill let you know after i get it done.
