Hi everyone,
As the title suggests, I'm trying to disable my processor's speedsteps feature. For some reasons (probably because my battery being dead) my PC is always running with speedsteps being turned on, which means it doesn't run at its highest speed. I've tried disabling speedsteps in my BIOS setup, as well as in XP (by setting the power scheme to 'Home/Office desk') without success. It seems like the processor's multiplier is stuck to 7.0 while it should be at 8.5 in order to get its max speed. And this problem only occurs in win xp (I've just tried installing win98, everthing was fine, processor was working at its max speed). Any help would be aprreciated...
PS: My CPU is a Pentium 3 Coppermine and the OS is Windows XP Pro SP2. Thanks in advance.
