Multi touch screen demonstration
Now thats amazing!
INSANE! 0_o
yeah, i'm not sure its completely by apple.
Not Apple at all, but definitely cool.
If you read some of his comments, he's actualy using Windows.
That is so awesome! I want one right now! ![]()
EDIT: I was just thinking... This reminds me of the orange touch keys they use in the movie HACKERS ![]()
Yay, Minority Report here I come!
Edit: Just realized how much a pain this is going to be if you have clammy palms like me!
Looks cool... but anyone have video from first link.... damn google video is not available in my country (and I thought India was rising on technology horizon).
The Foveal Desktop idea is great. Super high resolutions via an array of projectors.
Anyways, the multi-touch screen is amazing. I didn't think it would be possible to do this, but I have yet to see a real use for this, but like most things in computers that seem usless at first, they always seem to find a very useful purpose.

Well I'm not saying its Apple product but this movie is about the technologie which Apple has reacently pattented. Anyway I think this could be a mayor step in pc technologie and it would be great if new Apple personal computers looked like that.
Well I'm not saying its Apple product...
The why the misleading thread title?
but this movie is about the technologie which Apple has reacently pattented.
You cannot patent that which you did not invent... Apple did not invent this.
Some tard put that comment on the video link, but it was created and patented by NYU and Fluid Systems back in 2005.
Again... this was designed and built around the Windows OS, though not for specific/exclusive use with Windows

Apple is planning on patenting their "version" of this technology in a tablet pc.
Better late than never, but it already looks like the patent application will be rejected as it's not anything new.
yes you can patent what you did not invent! if by that you meant you haven't built...
man thats pretty sweet. but im not sure how i would like using the comp like that all the time.
one that would be cool though is a laptop that had two of those sceens on it. One as for the keyboard/touchpad and one for the screen. then basicly you can have the option of having a super customizable keyboard and a screen you can poke at.
honestly i would never want to be using the comp hunched over.
That lava lamp effect is cool.![]()
this is quite incredible, check it out and think of the possibilites..
We can only dream... likely hood of that coming anytime soon... neva!
I've seen that video months ago and it has NOTHING to do with Apple. People just like to claim Apple patented it.

a la 'minority report'.... nice...
Only apple and devil alone knows the truth... but if Apple patented it for real... mmm, I'd like to imagine working on Mac OS with hugeass 30" cinema touchscreen !!! won't that be fun?
I'm not a scientist, but as far as I think.... more than display technology it requires a software programming that decodes and response to complex inputs provided my touchscreen. Apple already has implemented better trackpads in their notebooks which can detects single finger tap or double finger tap, and use it for multidirectional scrolling. I think techonology in this video requires software created to use it's full potential !
I believe programming gurus here (pokes Ave, herd, PCM, Judge and rest of their species) will be able to throw more light over it.
Off-Topic : Unbe's avatar is missing... I'm scared... who knows what horror he's going to put in his next one !! ![]()
