adding separators to dock

I am having trouble adding seperators to my dock. i have no empty area in the dock where I can place my cursor to right-click for the option menu without opening one of the docklets. How do I access the options menu for the dock? Also how can I make minimized windows appear in a specific area of the dock? It seems they just appear randomly in between my shortcuts in the dock. Please help if you can! Thanks :-)

Sorry about that! This forum is not very user friendly. all of the different categories are kind of vague.

whaddya mean? this is one of the better laid out forums I've ever been too. did you read the faq?

also, right click on the dock & click add seperator...this is called a "context menu", most windows programs have them.

Thanks for trying to help me, but as I stated in my original post, there is no blank space on my dock where I can put my cursor to right-click! When I right click it gives me a popup menu regarding the shortcut/docklet that is next to my cursor (i.e. cut, copy, delete, dock item properties, etc.). Quite a dilema!

u've got to go almost to the edge. it takes a little patience/time to learn.

OR ***Back up this file first

Go to Program FilesRK Launcher

find the file itemlist.conf and open with notepad or a text editor.

Add the following code to the end of the file

[RKDockItem]

type = separator

show = normal

do you have the last version of rklauncher?

i have no separator in it and when i do the right click the menu pops but with "rklauncher settings" in it. when you move to that point, there is another one the rklauncher menu!
