I was just messing around today and came up with this design for my site Gemonic. Tell me what you think (I know it doesnt work with IE already, still have to mess with that. Still a work in progress
Thoughts on a new design?
It is plain. Not interesting. Color combination works smoothly but there's nothing that would make me go 'whoa this is cool!'
Yeah, it's pretty generic. And the teal and blue clash against each other.

This leads to a whole new universe....

@Aquacurve: I like colors, so looks like it's 1:1.
Fine "teal blue".
I think they clash. But Pe7er is more powerful than I am. I shall end your oppressive reign of moderator tyranny!
Hey wiz, it's OK that you dislike them. I didn't want to diss your opinion, I just wanted to show AquaCurve how huge his problem is right now: two very powerful, intelligent and handsome (without a doubt!) guys tell him the exact opposite stuff. I'd kill myself if I was him ![]()
seems like a stock k2 with the credits deleted to me... the 2 blues don't look well together. the green is ok... you've got too many colors, i count 9 different ones.

I dont see how it is "like a stock k2 with the credits deleted to me". Sorry, I am using the sidebar in the same style. This is just a mockup that I made pretty quickly and I wanted some comments on it. This has alot of colors? Compared to others this is very minimal in colors.

Good god.. - 2 people with different views in a forum fighting about it, what could be better? lol (jumps of a cliff)
This design is fine for a regular little blog. But for a site (I don't know what yours is supposed to be), it needs a little more graphics in it. So far, I would use the theme for my blog.
Oh, no problem. I forgot to show a smilie to let you know I was jokingHey wiz, it's OK that you dislike them. I didn't want to diss your opinion, I just wanted to show AquaCurve how huge his problem is right now:...
Damn right! Respect!handsome (without a doubt!)
Oh, no problem. I forgot to show a smilie to let you know I was jokingI just like to take every oppritunity to make fun of your name
.
Yeah my bad, saw that you made '7' bold after I posted. Someone hit me with a rubber chicken.
@Aquacurve: how's the developement coming along?
I kill teal all the time. ![]()

It's going good, minor tweaks here and there. Im trying to think of something more I could do to make it really stand out, so people go "woah this is cool! If anyone has any suggestions on anything I can do to make it better let me know. For what the site is going to be about, stuff like tech news, css, k2/wordpress tutorials, tutorials, things like that. As of right now I dont have a solid idea on what I am going to be blogging about, but that is going to be the main focus area. I was working on the design first.

same nav, same layout, same sidebar, same headers. oh and in the source you link to many k2 files... if you re color k2 you should still give credits since michael and chris basically created the entire structure of which you just changed a few of the aesthetics... oh and what sites are you talking about? all good websites have a few colors in their palettes and use them to their advantages.. k2 has only 2 colours to start with anyway [that is minimalistic]
you listen to advice at least instead of defending yourself every time someone says something other than "that is the best design ever made"

I link to K2 files? What I made it just a style (K2 Scheme) see definition below. not a theme. I only edited some of the core files as to make it easier to upgrade to a newer version.
K2 Schemes: K2 comes with a 'hook' of sorts, which allows you to place a file called k2scheme.css in the K2 directory and place your CSS in there instead of in the main CSS file. This will make it much easier for you to upgrade and in general keep K2 cruft-free.
About credit that I give? I can first start off by asking if you know what the word "Development" means, seeing as it seems that you dont, let me help you out. As I said in my first post "Still a work in progress". This is a skin in development. There will be credits and other things at the bottom of the page as I progress in the making of the "K2 Scheme" see definition above.
de·vel·op·ment (d-vlp-mnt)n.
1. The act of developing.
2. The state of being developed.
Im not going to argue with you about how in my opinion I think you are wrong. We both have 2 different views and there is no reason to argue about it here or anywhere.
w/e you clearly dont understand what giving credit means... you just re colored k2 so you should give the people who actually coded all that **** some credit, even if you are just "developing". it's just courteous to credit those who did all the hard work and all you did was change some fonts and hex codes. i won't try to convince you anymore because you didn't plan from the beginning to give them credit anyways.
@AquaCurve: jeez... I do agree with you, but don't take it so personally. Just accept that pwnzrzpat just doesn't get it.
I like the theme though... looking forward to the finished version ![]()
Ultra-rude post removed.
AquaCurve I'm sorry and very surprised to say this, but pwnzrzpat is 100% right. Don't take his words personally, he is just trying to show you how things are being done in the web. It's not the matter of who has the last word, it's a matter of putting things right and fair. If you want you can reply him again, but in a better, civilized manner. Patience is the key to success, man ![]()
EDIT: after reading your posts (AquaCurve's and pat's) I had a very good laugh. You guys basically agree on everything lol Although there's some evil vibe floating between you. Purge it, smile and move on!

I diddnt plan on giving credit anyway? Wtf? I have been messing with the footer which is why it is basically nothing, there is going to be content and credits there as soon as I finish it.
pat just gets jealous when people do work far superior to his is all.
Aqua....site looks pretty good, keep it up
Site is updated and running, let me know what you think ![]()
