Skype + EGO

Here it is... Can somebody explain me wth is this? Simple i can't undestand what i read ))

Maybe due my english or something else but

• i have to pay for SkypeOut?

• i have to pay cellular provider for phonecall?

i miss something?

Hi,

as far as i understood, you need your PC running, with your skype client logged in.

EQO is a plugin over the skype client, that will forward every voice traffic through the servers of EQO to your phone in a GPRS session.

If you have skype out, you can use it. If you don't, you still can use it to talk to people you can reach simply with your PC skype client - probably people also with PC skype client.

Now that's cool, but I don't want to talk over GPRS, which is -at least in my country- prioritized below voice traffic, so if there are too many voice calls in the same cell, I might loose 1 or 2 time slots. Voice does not really like changing bandwidth, which easily results in jitter - variable delays.

As far as I understand you can leave your PC running at home or in your office, and use this service, which is quite flexible though. What I do instead of this -without subscrbing to any service- is that I pair my bluetooth headset with my laptop in the office, and use it when calling on skype. I must be close to the PC which is a true limitation, but still, if I'm not online, I don't wanna chat with my skype buddies.

OK. Thanks... I think i should try it =)

and if i clear with - i will pay for GPRS data session only (if i only talk to Skype client, w/o SkypeOut...)

and BTW in my country GPRS is below voice too.
