I apologize for posting a thread about a problem so similar to Echomikeromeo's but my problem is slightly different and a problem nonetheless.
My situation began with me exiting the uninstaller at the "removing iTunes multi-plugin" step, because the uninstaller froze at that point. After restarting my computer, I found that the "all programs" menu didn't work (however I found a fix for it: just run 'regsvr32 /i shell32.dll'), no shortcuts worked, Window+X keys didn't work, Add/Remove Programs didn't show any programs, and System Restore just displayed a blank screen. I don't want to format my XP (mainly because I have 250+ gigs of data), so it would be awesome if someone could guide me through fixing these problems step-by-step.
A new member seeking inner peace,
Boris
EDIT: After a bit more poking around, I've realized that some programs work (Firefox, iTunes, Notepad), while others (CCleaner, Registry Mechanic, and iTunes' iPod interface) don't. When iTunes starts up, I get this error: "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software." I've also tried using the XP CD to restore the system files, but it causes some errors and can't restore some DLL's (if anyone wants specific names I'll gladly post them).
