Read Mac CDs on PCs

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone would know of a program or utility (free would be preferred but if not, something recommended) which would allow me to open/read/copy files on a Mac burned CD to windows XP.

I have some older to recent CDs which our graphics department archived using a Mac and need to transfer the files (unfortunately, I do not have access to a Mac at the moment,) to a PC as I am concerned about the data retention and integrity of the CD media.

I have searched download.com and google but the two utilities I have tried have given me limited success (currently attempting with TransMac which has given me the best success albiet with crashes in between.) So, I thought I would be silly not to check in with the good folks at AS before wasting more time. Again, a free tool would be recommended... maybe something on sourceforge?

regards all,

fc

You might want to check out MacDrive its not freeware but they have a trial version. Not sure what is limited on it but it might work out for the moment

MacDrive 6 trial only works for 5 days. But that should be enough to view your Mac formatted CD, right?

Thank you guys.. d-shade, MacDrive worked like a charm. I went ahead a purchased 2 licenses of the software since an additional only jumped $10.00.

Paralex, you're right, the trial would have given me enough time to transfer the cds.

Would still like to know if there's a freeware version though.
