Why Can`t I Replace Shell32.dll?

When i try to replace my shell32.dll both with reshacker and by copying in explorer i get the message saying that shell32.dll is in use and that it can`t save it (in reshacker) or replace it (in explorer). What am i doing wrong?

Try this Unbeliever. Make a copy of your shell32 to your desktop>Open it in reshacker, do whatever changes you wanna do>Save it>Erase the backup copy its going to make>Open replacer then follow its directions (all), and that should be it.

if you kill explorer, add new task, browse to c:windows/system32, scroll to shell 32, and rename it, then copy your new shell32 and place it in there, always works pretty good for me

First go to dllcache folder replace shell32.dll, then to to system32 then rename shell32.dll to shell32.bak, then copy your shell32 there, restart homeboy. Holla at me.

go to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Then delete the relevant file there.

Now go to C:\Windows\System32 and replace the old file with the new one. It should work now. :smartass:
