When i try to replace my shell32.dll both with reshacker and by copying in explorer i get the message saying that shell32.dll is in use and that it can`t save it (in reshacker) or replace it (in explorer). What am i doing wrong?
Why Can`t I Replace Shell32.dll?
I know a link if you are interested. This just like the mod that pack made for sp1 but this one is for non sp1 users. I dont remember the link so AIM. Iight ok.
if you kill explorer, add new task, browse to c:windows/system32, scroll to shell 32, and rename it, then copy your new shell32 and place it in there, always works pretty good for me
hey unbeliever,
(you've probably already done it but;)
this is the method photo678 is talking about,
its iceman's page and he has a couple of other methods to... really helped me out.
Just thought you might like to see the full gamut. Good Luck.
K well to replace it
a- find your folder "dllcache" its in windows but u have to unhide system protected files, replace it there
b- replace it in system32,
c- if u have sp1 also replace it in the sp1 folder if u cant figger it out by this im to lazy to add details
First go to dllcache folder replace shell32.dll, then to to system32 then rename shell32.dll to shell32.bak, then copy your shell32 there, restart homeboy. Holla at me.
go to C:\Windows\System32\dllcache
Then delete the relevant file there.
Now go to C:\Windows\System32 and replace the old file with the new one. It should work now. :smartass:
