Request: Musical scores! Please give some advice

Hey all! I am looking for some dramatic background music for a slideshow that I'm putting up for some friends. I want to know if you have any suggestions. I really dont know where to start looking, much less what to look for.

Can you give me some suggestions (Title of musical score, Title of Compilation/CD album, etc...) There can be voices in the background but there should be no lyrics. Im looking for something that sounds sinister/evil, climactic, and lonesome. I know some of them are being used in some commercials of some shows/movies on some channels.

Hmm, interesting task.

First thing that comes into my mind is Verdis requiem, has voices, is dramatic, sounds sinister/evil.

In no particular order from my music library:

- Gattaca soundtrack, classical music, some creepy/sinister/lonely tunes

- Some slower and darker instrumental Rhpasody tracks, features ancient instruments

- Apocalyptica, instrumental metal on cellos, creepy, sometimes hard, definatley fitting methinks

Look for album "Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett" by Venetian Snares. Pick anything, your friends will be thrilled

If you want something totally dark and evil, I recommend "Nordik Battle Signs" by Maschinnenzimmer 412 - it's Norwergian noise-ambient with a lot of Lucipher's smell floating around.

Wow thanks guys! I only have one problem. The songs I downloaded were really crappy in terms of quality. I just hate it when people re-encode an originally 56-96Kbps mp3 file to 320Kbps. argh.

that just made my day to hear that anyone might still find use for that track. i wrote that track in 2001 for an xbox game, and never got any use of it outside the game.
