Unable to boot windows--ntoskrnl.exe missing/corrupt

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt

system32ntoskrnl.exe

Please re-install a copy of the above file

I am running windows xp home edition. I can't boot into it. All i get is a black screen with that message. AFter i installed and repooted it seemed to be working. The next time i resterted my computer is when i started getting that error message. The good thing is that i have my computer dual booted so i can go into my other operating system and try to fix this problem. I have tried all the fixes in the Bug Report Thread, with no result. A problem i have is that i don't have the file ntoskrnl.exe.FlyakiteOSX. Please someone help me as I don't want to reinstall windows.

Also check if your power supply is working correct.

I had a similar problem. Check your boot.ini file. Rather than replace your ntoskrnl file, it creates a link to a new one. Because you're able to dual boot you should be able to open that file in the root of your C: drive and modify it to point back to your original ntoskrnl.
