Changing the font for non-English characters

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, if it isn't please move this

I want to change the font for chinese characters on avedesk, i can change the font for english characters, however the font stays the same for chinese character even after i changed them to specific chinese fonts. What do i need to do to solve this problem?

If I remember correctly, once you select the target font there should be another drop-down box where you actually choose the language (Western, Chinese, etc.). You need to select Chinese in that box.

i tried that already, mine automatically goes to chinese, it can display chinese but not the font i want (and it's a chinese font). O well if it can't be done i'll just stick with english lol

Hmm...that's strange, I know I can do it fine with Japanese fonts. But I think the older version of AveDesk had troubles with non-TTF fonts. I'm not sure of that's your problem or not.

the font i installed is ttf font, so i duno the problem, i will try more fonts then

what is the font? Because I have a number of Chinese & other Asian fonts. There are two questions I have.

1. You have all necessary language packs installed

2. The font is appropriate to your system. eg. Some Chinese fonts will not run on my version of XP, can't remember why but, know where to find out if necessary.

well im not sure about language back, all i did was install the copy of avedesk 1.3 that i got from this forum, didn't add additional stuff besides docklets. I'll try other fonts, see if they work, but so far im having no luck

Essentially what I meant was that some Chinese fonts won't work on English systems.

Maybe there's a link here that might help:
